For people who want to listen to music with better sound.
Everyone would like to listen to their favorite songs in an beautifully sounding environment.
In this article we will introduce ways to listen to music with better sound, just by making a few small adjustments.
5 ways to listen to good music for your ears, even better
1.Adjust the position of your speakers
Are you careful about the position of your speakers when you listen to music?
Sound coming from your speakers is highly affected by the reverberation of the room you are in.
Especially if you are a music creator, be careful of the angle of your speakers.
Even if the speakers are off the right angle just a little bit, it will sound totally off balance.
Try to place the speakers so they are the same height as your ears.
2.Adjust sound reflection
As we said in 1, sound is strongly affected by the reverberations of the room. We most often are not listening to the original sound of the song due the sound reflections.
Placing acoustic absorption material behind your speakers will absorb unwanted low end, and make your sound a lot more easier to listen to. You can even use a curtain if you have a low budget.
Since sound also spreads to the side of your speakers, we recommend you use absorption material on your side walls if they are close to the speakers. Since the walls of my house are close to my speakers and I have a low budget, I use egg packs. Although not as high grade as expensive absorption material, it still works pretty well. Try putting clothes or any kind of material that absorbs sound behind and beside your speakers to adjust the sound.
3.Use an audio interface
When listening to music from your PC via ITunes, are you listening from the speakers of your PC? Or are you plugging speakers from the mini jack of your PC?
The sound engine of a PC is not so high in quality, so if you wan’t to listen to music from your PC in high quality we recommend you use an audio interface.
An audio interface can be connected by USB or Firewire. Recent ones can be connected by Thunderbolt.
The number of channels vary from 2 to over 10, and so does the price, from ten thousand to tens of thousands. Go to the music store and ask the clerk which kind suits your environment the most.
Some audio interfaces look quite classy, and can even be used as interior items.
4.Adjust audio format
When listening to music from a CD with your PC or smartphone, many people import songs from the CD via ITunes. When doing that, the data is often encoded to save data space.
mp3, a famous format, strongly compresses the sound, so although you can save a lot of space in your hard disk, important parts of the sound is taken away.
mp3 is suitable for casually listening to music, but if you want to listen to music with better sound try adjusting the audio format when importing songs. Formats such as WAV and AIFF are the same quality as the CD.
The adjustments maybe a little complicated, and the file sizes will become quite heavy, but it will definitely make a difference.
5.Change cables
It may sound like a myth, but changing your socket cables, or replacing your USB cables or FIREWIRE cables for your audio interface (as we mentioned above) can drastically change your sound quality. Even changing the cables of your PC will affect the sound, so try out all kinds and try to understand the effects.
Summary
Did you learn anything new? From easy adjustments to mythological procedures, your everyday music can be adjusted to sound beautiful just with a few tweaks.
